Sincerity: Eagerly and transparently doing what is right without ulterior motives.
Courageously choosing and doing what is right + genuine self-expression = sincerity
Sincerity requires:
- Courage: People must be brave enough to be vulnerable and to feel their real feelings.
- Realism: Sincerity is not enough on its own. We can be sincere but wrong. Believing something that is incorrect does not increase success in leadership.
- Respect: Sincerity is birthed from a deep respect for oneself, others, and the truth.
“To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.” – Douglas Adams
