Decisiveness: Finalizing difficult decisions without hesitation
Confidence to make decisions + willingness to take risks = decisiveness
People with decisiveness are characterized by certainty, determination, and conclusiveness. They can decide quickly and effectively, and their decisions are purposeful and authoritative.
Decisiveness requires:
- Willingness to take risks – There are always risks in making decisions, but we must realize that indecision is ultimately a decision.
- Deciding to be decisive – Determining to be a decisive person and practicing it are essential steps for building the confidence to make important decisions.
- Deadlines – When a decision does not have a deadline, the wisest thing we can do is to give ourselves one.
