Generosity: Selflessly using your resources to benefit others.

Willingly giving time and resources + meeting the needs of others without selfish ambitions = generosity

Did you know that being generous also benefits the one that gives?  Research has shown that generosity is a foundational principle for mental and relational health.  A generous lifestyle reduces stress; supports personal, physical health; enhances purpose; and fights depression.  Generosity can boost confidence, promote positive social connections, and improve relationships.

Generosity requires:

  • Self-Care:  You have to take care of yourself in order to have something of value to give to others.
  • Optimism:  Generous people are optimistic, and they believe the world can be a better place.
  • Altruism:  In order to be truly generous, a person must be selfless and concerned with the needs of others.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” –Winston Churchill
