Idleness and procrastination are the opposite of productivity and result in ineffectiveness and wasted potential.
A lack of productivity will not convert inputs into quality outputs. Your productivity does not depend on excellent resources, it starts with a decision to do the best you can with the resources you have.
Enemies of Productivity:
- PROCRASTINATION – People often excuse a lack of action by planning to eventually complete a task, but procrastination prevents us from giving our best effort.
- FEAR OF FAILURE – Even the most productive people experience failure on the way to success, but they learn from their mistakes, and they use them to move forward wisely. Strive for excellent results, not perfection at every step.
- MULTITASKING – Many of us want to believe we can successfully accomplish several things at once; however, multitasking can lead us to start multiple projects without bringing them all to completion.
“If we attend continually and promptly to the little that we can do, we shall ere long be surprised to find how little remains that we cannot do.” – Samuel Butler
