Focus: Concentrated attention and energy

Concentrating on the task or goal + avoiding distractions = focus

Focused people are intentional, centered, and consistent. They concentrate on their targets and goals and maintain appropriate engagement to accomplish their tasks.

Focus Requires:

  • REMOVING DISTRACTIONS: Focus begins with eliminating the things that pull our minds away from the tasks at hand.
  • TRAINING OUR BRAINS: We need to train our brains to pay attention to one thing in order to do it well.
  • ALLOCATING RESOURCES: We may try to be focused, but if the way we use our resources does not support it, we will struggle to stay on target.

“Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Focus on your character, not your reputation. Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes.” – Roy T. Bennett
