Honesty: Being upright, truthful, and open in communication.

Dishonest people appear deceitful, unreliable, and untrustworthy. They may be insincere and manipulative, and they likely prioritize success over truth and character.

Dishonesty forces us to live in fear and lowers our self-esteem; we will never be truly successful or satisfied.

Enemies of Honesty:

  • FEAR – When we fear criticism, rejection, or embarrassment that could stem from telling the truth, we are tempted to be dishonest.
  • IMMATURITY – Immature people are often focused on themselves and can fail to understand the effects of their actions on others.
  • CONTROLLING OTHERS – When we desire to control how other people feel and behave, we may bend the truth or completely alter it in order to manage their feelings and behavior.
