Those that lack loyalty are casual about promises and commitments, and they will make decisions based on what is most beneficial in the moment for them.
Disloyal people may be known for being unfaithful, undependable, and unreliable.
Enemies of Loyalty:
- Misguided Loyalty– If loyalty causes someone to refuse to face facts, to overlook incompetence, or to cover wrongdoing, trust in the entire organization is eroded and disloyalty becomes pervasive.
- Thoughtless Words– Careless responses and reactions will be regretted. A mature person will apologize, but the damage will often be deep and hurtful. Trust may be destroyed and may not be reparable. Trust and loyalty take a long time to develop but can be destroyed in a few moments.
- Options– The Internet and social media have expanded the options for commerce, business, organizations, and even relationships. You don’t have to be dissatisfied with your current option to be distracted by a new option. The proliferation of choices makes an uncommitted person fear “missing something.”
