A person without integrity may occasionally appear to have character and sincerity, depending on the circumstance. Their life has pockets of deceit, dishonor, and infidelity. Their words and actions do not often match.
Enemies of Integrity
- MORAL WEAKNESS – The inability or unwillingness to gather the strength and resoluteness to overcome temptation makes integrity impossible.
- HYPOCRISY – Telling people what they want to hear to avoid conflict or to gain approval is deceitful. Being insincere with the hope of personal gain is demeaning to the other person and to ourselves. Being dishonest about our beliefs, feelings, and virtues is manipulation.
- SELF-INTEREST – When we feel maintaining our own desires and needs is priority number one, integrity slips away.
“The road to success is paved with integrity.” – Paul Weaver
