People who are not accountable lack responsibility, are reluctant to be held to a standard, make excuses for actions and results, and blame others.

Accountability helps accelerate my performance, keeps me actively engaged, and allows me to track my successes and progress toward individual and team goals.

Enemies of Accountability:

  • EXCUSES:  Accountability cannot thrive when we become defensive.
  • PERCEIVED HELPLESSNESS:  Perceived helplessness will prevent development in the area of accountability.
  • LACK OF RESILIENCE:  No one performs perfectly all of the time. Even the most skilled and accomplished person faces failure and endures negative feedback.
