Worry is doubting that we, the people we lead, or the God we serve are capable of bringing about good outcomes from bad situations. When we worry and fret, it zaps us of our creative and resourceful thinking, and we begin to lose hope. Worry is like sand in the gears, and it can take years off of our lives if left unchecked.

For me, worry is prevalent when I do not have the answers I need. But taking time to sort out my thoughts, to seek advice, and to spend time in prayer gives me hope and helps me defeat worry. I believe we are amazingly resilient as long as we have hope. So if worry tries to pull you down, talk to God, talk to others, and remember Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” -Paul Weaver
