Resourcefulness: Ingenuity and skill in dealing with new, unexpected situations

Using creativity and innovation to solve problems + seeing the opportunities in unexpected situations = resourcefulness

Resourceful people are positive and enthusiastic because limitations and unexpected difficulties do not hinder them.  They look for creative solutions, which opens the door to greater accomplishment, both as individuals and with their teams.

Resourcefulness requires:

  • Confidence – Resourceful people believe they have what is necessary to solve problems.
  • Open-Mindedness – Resourcefulness requires being open to new ideas and possibilities.
  • Proactive Persistence – Resourceful people do not sit and wait for things to happen. They look for new approaches and persistently pursue the options until they find a solution.

Resourceful people are ingenious, creative, and innovative.  They embrace limitations and unforeseen circumstances as opportunities in disguise.
