Honesty: Being upright, truthful, and open in communication
Honest people are known for truthfulness, morality, candor, and fairness. They are reliable, trustworthy, and genuine, and they avoid giving false impressions.
Being truthful with others + living an authentic life = honesty
Honesty requires:
- SELF-APPRAISAL – Honesty begins with telling ourselves the truth.
- SELF-CONTROL – We do not need to be involved in every conversation.
- SELF-RESPECT – Honest people have self-respect and care more about being true to themselves than what others think about them.
“I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business.” –Harvey Firestone
