People who lack resourcefulness stay stuck thinking inside the box and are not creative. They are easily discouraged by unexpected situations. When resources are not readily available and easy to obtain, their enthusiasm fades quickly.

ENEMIES OF RESOURCEFULNESS:

  • IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION: People who desire immediate gratification will quickly burn through resources and make decisions that do not support long-term goals. Patience is necessary to see new solutions and ideas come to life.
  • LAZINESS: Laziness leads people to look for the easiest solution, but if the solution is not easy, some people quit and move on. This approach prevents people from discovering a creative way to achieve their goals.
  • SOCIAL CONDITIONING: Social conditioning causes people to react to situations based on the generally accepted response; however, relying on old methods and processes restricts the development of innovative ideas.

“We have to do the best we know how at the moment. If it does not turn out right, we can modify it as we go along.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
