A person without discernment acts foolishly, mindlessly, and unwisely. He or she does not see below the surface and makes decisions without forethought.

Discernment minimizes regrets and frustration and multiplies respect, fulfillment, and success in your life and associations.

ENEMIES OF DISCERNMENT:

  • PREJUDICE: Most people have some prejudice to one degree or another. It is difficult to set aside preconceived ideas about people, places, and situations in order to seek truth.
  • TIME: We all have desired outcomes and preferred deadlines. A desire for progress can distract us from taking the time to carefully process information.
  • PRIDE:  Leaders who are wise in their own eyes may become arrogant and assume they know the answers without taking the time to understand the situation, to gather input, and to choose wisely.
