FAITH STORIES

A New Book by Steve Wingfield

When leading a team, you will discover that each person has their own personality and skill set. Managing a group of unique people is both a challenge and an opportunity. The number one challenge is to truly know your people, and when you understand their strengths, you have the opportunity to help individuals and teams flourish. It’s important to put team members on the right bus and in the right seat, which means positioning them to use their gifts to reach their potential.

Your goal should be to have close-knit teams and competent, high-energy people. High performance teams are passionate about reaching goals, and the team’s cohesiveness is paramount in winning. Highly talented, fragmented teams are mediocre, but close-knit teams are nearly unstoppable. Different personalities will not compete with each other, but they will complete each other and strengthen the team. Diversity creates vibrancy, and when people with a variety of personalities and skills are strategically positioned to collaborate, the entire team will shine.
